I was first hit with the entrepreneurial bug in 1995 while planning my wedding. I had the visionary idea that “couples should be able to plan their wedding on the Internet." What sounds like a “duh” idea now, was of questionable sanity in the days of old school modems and AOL. My startup eventually was acquired by an idealab company and WeddingChannel (now owned by The Knot) was born.
After startup-world crazy town, I spent nearly a decade on Amazon’s Personalized and Automated Merchandising and Zeitgeist teams as a User Experience Designer. After Amazon, I consulted for IMDb, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. I have also served as a Board Member and Vice President of AIGA Seattle.
Currently I am in the process of closing down the company I co-founded, Wanderlust Society. Wanderlust Society is a social platform for sharing and discovering travel recommendations, but unfortunately our runway has run out.
I enjoy road tripping, hiking, paddle-boarding, and boating with my husband and two kids. I love using my camera to document family stories. I am also on a personal mission to encourage everyone to make the most of their time on earth by adding Wanderlust into their every day lives with #wanderlustwednesdays.
I’m looking for a UX design job where I can collaborate with a cross functional team and bring the Next Big Idea to life.
